There is countless websites of companies that rents apartments for short term accommodation in Bucharest.
The customer selects a company, make reservation for a specific apartment and at check in the customer get a completely different apartment belonging to another company.
For most of those “company” making this business are not serious, have little interest for customers or customer’s rights.
And all of them are practicing overbooking.
Most of these “companies” have in direct portfolio only 2 or 3 apartments.
For the rest they have the “collaboration” method.
And so the client knows he reserved and has confirmation on a 2 bedroom apartment located in Unirii Square and at the moment of check in he is heading to another apartment in …University Square or elsewhere in Bucharest on the grounds that the originally booked apartment is … occupied.
Do to an understanding between them many “companies” are sharing the apartments, using the same ones.
Therefore if you are a customer and booking an apartment from X or Y Accommodation is the same anyway … you get to stay in an apartment unknown by Z Accommodation.
While X, Y and Z have an agreement.
But the client has a reservation for an apartment with X Accommodation for paying say 70 Eur / night, X Accommodation will offer an apartment from Z Accommodation for which he pay 50 Eur / night, uh…collaboration price.
For those remaining 20 Eur X Accommodation has no interest in taking care of the customer and for the 50 Eur received the other company has no interest to take care of the apartment, keep standard or provide services.
The worst scenario for the customer: for those 70 Eur he will receive accommodation of 50 Eur value and services of 0 Eur.

On the other hand we had the surprise to receive by booking online platforms, booking on our apartments from some “collaborators” who have acted as intermediaries by reselling our apartments to the final customer.
If you dare to make deals and discounts for accommodation offers we have all chances to receive such reservations, the final customer will be lucky to be staying in our apartments but public comment and review will be dedicated to intermediary … whose credibility will increase … on our expense!
Therefore dear guests please ask for the exact address of the apartment you booked, don’t accept late minute changes, unless a good reason is explained and in compensation you are being offered a better apartment for the same price.
This is the only proof that you are dealing with a serious company.
And of course dear guests ask for the bill.
